FRIDAY    1-10-20    D-Day:  Peer Review   Poetry Project Today and Monday

DO NOW  - Finding Peer Reviewers

        CHOOSING PEER REVIEWERS

      • Get a sticky note.
      • Write your name at the top.
      • Number it 1, 2, 3
      • Stick your note on the wall in the classroom and stand next to it.
      • Wait for instructions from your teacher.

        SHARE YOUR PROJECT...
      1. Share your project with the 4 other classmates on your sticky note.
        1. Open your project in Google Drive.
        2. Click on the blue share button.
        3. Share your project with the four people you selected.

        PEER EDIT AND PROOFREAD
      1. READ
First read the poem(s) to yourself.  Don't edit or correct anything. Just read it for enjoyment and to get a feel for the story and the poetry.
      2. PROOFREAD
Use a proofreading checklist to make sure all the grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation are correct.  Tip: Start at the end and read it backward.
      3. EDIT
Lastly, using the rubrics provided by your teacher, check each section of the rubric very carefully.

        Things to remember...
        1. Use only whole numbers.  No 8.5s or 3.2s!
        2. Do not discuss anything with the author.  Write them notes using the SUGGESTION button so they can fix it later.
        3. Add up the columns with a calculator for totals at the bottom of the rubric.

           Assessment / Homework
        • Make the changes suggested by your peer reviewers from today over the weekend so you can receive the best grade possible!
