COVID-19 Shutdown Week 12





   TUESDAY  & THURSDAY    5-26 & 5-28: 20% Time Final Presentation TedTalk        

     Announcements                          


  •  Class will always begin at 10:30.  You will not be allowed in class after 10:35 and you may be counted as absent. The meeting room is open at 10:20 each day we have class.  Class time may be extended if necessary.

  • Need help with an assignment?  Mr. DeGrandis has office hours on Zoom after class. Just let him know you need some time!

  • HOW WILL I BE GRADED 4th MARKING PERIOD?
    From the Deputy Superintendent of the RCSD:

    Pass with Distinction (PD) – grade equivalent of 85-100
    Pass (P) – grade equivalent of 65-84
    Incomplete (I) – grade equivalent of 0-64

    For students in grades 6-12, final course grades will be based on a holistic review of student progress before and after we began remote learning. Each classroom teacher will determine if students demonstrated an understanding of course standards."

    Go into Google Classroom and complete the activity titled, "Two Great TedTalks from Previous SOTA 8th Graders."

    What to Do
    1) Watch both videos.
    2) Open the rubric.
    3) Decide what you would grade each student.
    4) In the comments under the assignment, write:

    2. See Examples of TedTalks from past 8th Graders (see Google Classroom for the videos titled, )

    3. Read the The Rubric for your TedTalk

    4. Write the Script for your TedTalk!  See Google Assignment 74.0.

    5. Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse your TedTalk

    6. Record your TedTalk and upload to your school YouTube account.

    7. Submit URL from your TedTalk YouTube video to Google Classroom Assignment 80.0 for credit.
