MP1 - Week 8 - 2022

     MONDAY    10-24-22      D-Day: Finish 6-Word Horror Stories     


        ANNOUNCEMENTS          

1.  Tomorrow we will begin the Common Formative Assessment.

2.  Don't forget to check your Gmail at least once a day for notes from me and returned assignments.

        DO NOW                      

1.  Be sure you now have 10 words for Vocabulary List II.  Don't have all ten words?  Ask a classmate to share them with you!

2.  Use Vocabulary List II to solve THIS CROSSWORD PUZZLE.  The first ten people finished will receive two tickets for the upcoming Thanksgiving raffle!

LEARNING TARGETS                 

1.  I can prepare my writing for publishing by having at least two classmates peer review my 6-Word Horror Story using the rubric for Assignment 26.0.

2.  I can publish a link to my 6-Word Horror story to Padlet AND also in Assignment 26.0 in Google Classroom.


        MINI-LESSON                  

1.  Review the criteria for the assessment using the rubric.

2.  Demonstration of how to submit Assignment 26.0 with a link from Canva.


        WORK TIME          

Have two classmates "grade" your story using the rubric and give you feedback.

Check for...

a.  Tone and mood of horror.

b.  Capitalization, spelling, and end punctuation.


When you are sure it's perfect...

a.  Post it on THIS PADLET.

b.  Submit the same link in Assignment 26.0!



          ASSESSMENT          

Your completed 6-Word Horror story was published on the Padlet and the link was submitted in Google Classroom.




     TUESDAY -- Friday  Complete Administration of Common Formative Assessment     


        ANNOUNCEMENTS          

1.  Check your Gmail for returned assignments and possibly notes from me about your genius project or other news.

2.  Volunteer needed to update Word of the Week and Quote of the Week.


        DO NOW          

Use one of Vocabulary List II's words in a sentence that proves you understand the meaning of the word for a ticket.

I can complete my CFA for Test Grade worth 100 Points in ELA.

        WORK TIME          

1.  Finish your CFA in Educlastic.

2.  Go to THIS PADLET and answer the questions there for extra credit about the short story, The Elevator by William Sleator.
