    • CITATIONS
a quote (evidence) from or reference to a book, paper, or author.  Think of it like a mailing address.  Citations help you find the source an author used.  They also help you avoid plagiarism.

      There are two types...
      1) In-line Citations (you already know this one)  Here's an example...

Ha believes she is smart because "no one knows" (Lai, 2).

    • 2) WORKS CITED ENTRY on a WORKS CITED PAGEworks cited page is a list of works (books, websites etc..) that you referenced in the body of your paper or project.

      EXAMPLE...

      Works Cited
"Blueprint Lays Out Clear Path for Climate Action." Environmental Defense Fund. Environmental Defense Fund, 8 May 2007. Web. 24 May 2009.
Clinton, Bill. Interview by Andrew C. Revkin. "Clinton on Climate Change." New York Times. New York Times, May 2007. Web. 25 May 2009.
Dean, Cornelia. "Executive on a Mission: Saving the Planet." New York Times. New York Times, 22 May 2007. Web. 25 May 2009.
Ebert, Roger. "An Inconvenient Truth." Rev. of An Inconvenient Truth, dir. Davis Guggenheim. Rogerebert.com. Sun-Times News Group, 2 June 2006. Web. 24 May 2009.
